Overview
Since the public release of World Wide Web the amount of information one must
deal with every day has been growing exponetially. Contacts, e-mails and
calendars are no longer primary information sources: both business and personal
data require specialized information management systems. Everyone works
differently and traditional rigid tools do not allow for the growing necessity
to organize special kinds of information in personalized ways.
More and more professions adopt
computers as primary tools, each imposing different requirements on information
management systems. A writer, for instance, uses one software application to
store contacts, appointments and notes, another to organize the web links,
another to store a list of favorite books and yet another to write articles and
periodicles. Aside from a growing cost aquiring and maintaining multiple
applications, one must also invest valuable time in learning new and unfamiliar
tools. Sharing specialized information with others becomes a burden: yet
another type of application must be employed for information sharing and the
same tools must be used by all parties. Managing information ends up taking
more and more time while less time can be dedicated to the real tasks.
Our revolutionary Personal Information
Manager in development takes advantage of the latest industry standards for
organizing and sharing data. Any type of data can be managed in a single,
familiar tool. Advanced plugin architecture allows third parties to
develop specialized components for special kind of data. Mutliple components
that manage the same type of data can co-exist, allowing the user to pick a
more appropriate one. Common data storage allows for quick and easy searching
and sorting while the industry standard XML allows built-in data sharing
components to share data with users employing any type of XML complying
applications.
